Teams started off the sectional meets on Tuesday by participating in the Section IV Steeplechase and Pentathlon events.
Class C Boys
Lansing’s Josh Barber and Eddy Potter finished third and fourth respectively in the Steeple chase. Newfield’s Corey Coon finished third in the Pentathlon.
Class C Girls
Lansing’s Ryann Cretney finished second in the steeplechase, four seconds behind the leader. Newfield’s Micki Volpini placed second in the pentathalon winning the high jump and placing second in the shot put.
Interscholastic Athletic Conference Golf Championship
Lansing came in third overall on the strength of brothers Craig and Jess Esposito’s 82s on the day. Trumansburg placed Max Kohler in the top six with an 81, scoring a fifth place finish and a medal.
Groton placed fifth by a slim margin on an 82 from Bryan Murray.
The golf season ends at the Robert Trent Jones golf course at Cornell with the state competition on Sunday and Monday.
